Rupashree Geriani

Indian Painter / Singapore

About

Rupashree Geriani, born and raised in Mumbai, India, has called Singapore home for the past six years. With an MBA and nearly 15 years of experience in the corporate world, she eventually followed her long-held passion for art—a calling that had resonated with her for many years.

Her artistic journey is deeply influenced by her love for travel and cultural exploration. Through abstract works, landscapes, and portraits, Rupashree captures the essence of the people and places that have left an impression on her. Each artwork becomes a visual diary, translating lived experiences into evocative compositions.

She has honed her skills through various short courses at NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) and under the guidance of practicing artists. Constantly experimenting with mediums, Rupashree believes that each brings its own charm and challenges. Among them, soft pastels remain her favorite, known for their vibrancy and versatility. At the same time, she finds particular joy in using acrylics and oils for landscapes, where the texture and depth of color allow her to truly bring scenes to life.

In June 2025, she was invited to join the Asian Art Association Singapore (Traditional Painting).

Artist Statement

Art has always held a special place in my heart. Every time I visit a new place or encounter a new face, I feel an immediate urge to capture that moment on canvas. Whether it’s the character of a landscape or the emotion in someone’s eyes, these experiences inspire my work deeply.

If you browse through my paintings, you'll notice that most are drawn from places I've explored or people who’ve left a mark on me. Each piece is a reflection of a memory, preserved through brushstrokes and color. Translating these moments into art is more than just a creative process—it’s a therapeutic journey that allows me to relive and honor the beauty I’ve witnessed.
