Artist Statement
Ms. Chen Wenying's artistic philosophy is rooted in tradition but transcends mere technical skills. Through long-term practice in performance and teaching, she has developed a unique teaching system that focuses on "sound quality as the core and musical expression as the outcome". She believes that the guzheng is not just about plucking the strings, but also a projection of the soul.
In teaching, Ms. Chen adheres to the principle of "tailoring teaching to individual needs and integrating form and spirit". She believes that skills should serve the artistic conception. She not only requires students to precisely grasp the essence of each musical style, but also emphasizes guiding students to develop a keen cultural perception. She is committed to fully exploring the artistic potential of students, allowing the performance to return to nature and achieving an artistic height that can move the heart.
