About

Jay Chau, also known as Zou Chao, Chairman of the Asian Art Association Singapore, has a wealth of professional background and outstanding academic achievements. He graduated from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, with a Master in Public Administration and Management. Prior to that, Jay Chau worked for several years at leading Chinese internet companies such as NetEase and Tencent, accumulating rich experience and extensive connections. In 2012, he organized and successfully hosted a social media debate for the candidates of the Hong Kong Chief Executive election, injecting new vitality and influence into public policy discussions.

In 2018, Mr. Chau founded the Asian Art Association Singapore and served as its Chairman. He is committed to promoting the concept of "art creating public value" through various art activities and projects, promoting social harmony and cultural exchange.

In recent years, Mr. Chau has been interviewed by South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), Lianhe Zaobao (Singapore), Central News Agency(Taiwan) and People's Daily (China) many times or has written columns to express his unique views on cultural issues. He delves into the building of cultural soft power in Asia, the role of the arts in public policy, and how wider social impact can be achieved through cross-cultural collaboration. His articles and opinions not only provide readers with profound cultural insights, but also provide useful references for policy makers and arts practitioners.

In November 2025, Mr. Chau was invited as a Guest Panelist at the AI + Design Summit (APAC), an international forum hosted by HONOR to explore the future of artificial intelligence and creative innovation in Asia. He joined university deans and professors from Southeast Asia in a high-level roundtable discussion on AI, artistic creativity, and youth empowerment. Representing the Asian Art Association (Singapore), he contributed insights on AI-enabled art practices, youth talent development, and the evolving creative ecosystem in the region.

Under his leadership, the Asian Art Association Singapore has grown steadily and become an important force driving the development of Asian art. Jay Chau has made outstanding contributions to the integration of art and public policy with his unique perspective and unwavering belief.
