I. Organizer and Competition Overview

1. Organizer:

2. Nature of the Competition:
The Singapore World Piano Competition 2025 is a professional piano competition open to global participants. It welcomes both piano enthusiasts and professional pianists from all countries and regions. All performances must be solo piano only.

II. Eligibility and Categories

(Categorized by age and performance level)

Each participant must be the actual performer of the submitted work.
Each contestant may register for only one category (no duplicate entries allowed).

Amateur Division

• Amateur Children Category: 12 years old and under; One 2-5 Minute Piano Solo Piece;
Entry Fee: SGD 109; Planet YoungArt Membership Discount: SGD 99.

• Amateur Junior Category: 13–17 years old; One 4-8 Minute Piano Solo Piece;
Entry Fee: SGD 119; Planet YoungArt Membership Discount: SGD 109.

• Amateur Youth Category: 18–25 years old; One 6-12 Minute Piano Solo Piece;
Entry Fee: SGD 129; AAA Artist Discount: SGD 119.

• Amateur Adult Category: 26 years old and above; One 5-10 Minute Piano Solo Piece;
Entry Fee: SGD 139; AAA Artist Discount: SGD 129.

Professional Division

• Professional Junior Category: 13–17 years old; Students from conservatory preparatory schools or equivalent programs; One 5-10 Minute Piano Solo Piece;
Entry Fee: SGD 149; Planet YoungArt Membership Discount: SGD 139.

• Professional Youth Category: 18–25 years old; Conservatory or university-level music majors or graduates; Two works from different periods or styles, with a total duration of 10–15 minutes, including at least one complete movement (e.g., a full movement from a Classical sonata, Romantic work, or 20th-century composition);
Entry Fee: SGD 169; AAA Artist Discount: SGD 159.

• Professional Adult Category: No age limit; Open to active professional pianists;
Total performance time 15–20 minutes, consisting of one or multiple works;
Performances of contemporary compositions are encouraged to demonstrate artistic innovation；
Entry Fee: SGD 189; AAA Artist Discount: SGD 179.

III. Application and Submission Deadline

1. Deadline: All applications and video submissions must be completed by 24:00 (midnight), January 31, 2026 (Singapore Time) — equivalent to Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur time zones.

2. Video links must be submitted via file-sharing services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Baidu Drive or WeTransfer.
Links from streaming platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Youku, or Tencent Video will not be accepted.

3. Participants are responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all submitted materials. Certificates and official results will be issued based on the information provided in the application form. Corrections must be requested within 7 days after the deadline.

IV. Video Recording and Submission Requirements (Mandatory)

1. Introduction (Required):
Before performing, the contestant (or announcer) must clearly state to the camera, without subtitles or overlays:
“My name is [Name], from [City, Country]. Today is [Date]. The following performance is for the Singapore International Piano Competition 2025, organized by the Asian Art Association Singapore. I am participating in the [Category], performing [Piece Title].”
The performance must begin immediately after the spoken introduction in one continuous take without cuts.

2. Recording Setup:
• Landscape (horizontal) video.
• Single fixed camera; no panning, zooming, or shaking.
• The performer’s face, hands, and part of the keyboard must be clearly visible.

3. Quality and Format:
Minimum resolution 1080p; recommended file formats: MP4 or MOV.

4. No Editing:
The video (including the spoken introduction) must be unedited — no cuts, splices, post-production enhancements, or added sound effects.

5. Performance:
All works must be memorized (no score reading). Repeated sections may be omitted.

6. Uploading Works:
Each work must be uploaded as a separate video file. For suites or multi-movement works submitted as a single entry, the entire piece must be recorded continuously without cuts.

7. File Naming Format:
[Name]_[Age]_[Nationality]_[Category]_[Piece Title]_Recorded for Singapore International Piano Competition 2025

8. Instrument:
Performances must be recorded on a properly tuned upright or grand piano.

9. Score Submission:
A PDF copy of the published score must be submitted along with the application, with the performer’s name and category written on the first page.
For original compositions or unpublished works, a signed Composer’s Consent Letter (scanned or digitally signed) must be provided.

10. Upload Access:
Ensure the shared link allows viewing without requiring access requests or login credentials.

V. Repertoire and Performance Rules

1. Participants should select repertoire that best demonstrates their artistic and technical ability.

2. Preludes and fugues count as one piece. Multi-movement works such as sonatas or suites are considered one work (subject to time limits).

3. Performances must adhere strictly to the required duration for each category; significant deviations may result in disqualification or score penalties.

4. Unauthorized arrangements of copyrighted works are not permitted unless written permission from the copyright holder is provided.

VI. Evaluation Criteria and Awards

Evaluation Dimensions:
Judges will assess participants based on the following:
• Technical mastery, accuracy, and execution difficulty
• Musicality and artistic expression (tone, phrasing, dynamics, rhythm, style)
• Structural understanding and interpretation
• Stage presence and professionalism

Scoring and Awards:
• 95 and above: PLATINUM — Trophy, Award Certificate and Certificate of Jury Evaluation; invited to record a winner’s message.
• 90–94: GOLD — Award Certificate and Certificate of Jury Evaluation; invited to record a winner’s message.
• 85–89: SILVER — Award Certificate and Certificate of Jury Evaluation; invited to record a winner’s message.
• 80–84: BRONZE — Award Certificate and Certificate of Jury Evaluation; invited to record a winner’s message.
• 70–79: OUTSTANDING — Award Certificate and Certificate of Jury Evaluation.
• Below 70: Participation Certificate and Certificate of Jury Evaluation.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to adjust the number of awards based on the overall performance level.

VII. Special Awards

1. Harmony Award
Awarded to one or two participants who demonstrate exceptional cultural understanding, tonal balance, and emotional depth through their performance.

2. Excellence Award
Selected from among First Prize winners who exhibit superior technical and artistic excellence beyond the average professional level.

3. Rising Star Award
Typically awarded to outstanding performers aged 18 or under, recognizing creativity, stage charisma, and artistic potential.

4. SG60 Commemorative Medal
Presented jointly by the Jury and Committee to honor performances embodying the spirit of “Music Beyond Borders, Unity Through Harmony”, particularly those featuring works by Singaporean composers or multicultural influences.

5. Outstanding Tutor Award
The tutors of the selected and awarded contestants will be honored to recognize their contributions to teaching and guidance.

6. Outstanding Organization Award
Recognizes institutions or schools that register 10 or more participants, for their contribution to musical education and promotion.

VIII. Jury Committee

1. The jury will consist of distinguished professors, performers, and music critics from internationally recognized institutions. The full jury list will be published on the official website.

2. All decisions are final after collective deliberation and committee review. Appeals will not be accepted unless clear evidence of procedural error is presented.

IX. Copyrights and Legal Responsibility

1. Each participant must perform personally. Plagiarism, ghost performance, or copyright infringement will result in disqualification and possible legal consequences.

2. Submitted materials (videos, photos, audio, and awarded works) grant the Organizer a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license for exhibition, archival, publication, and promotional use (including educational and media purposes), with proper attribution.

3. All fees are non-refundable. Submitted works will not be returned. The Organizer retains the right to use awarded performances for exhibitions, publications, or broadcasts without further compensation.

X. Administrative and Fee Adjustments

1. Any re-submission or modification before the deadline requires a SGD 10 administrative fee. No changes will be accepted after the deadline.

2. Certificates and announcements will reflect the information provided in the registration form. Errors must be reported within 7 days after the deadline.

3. The Committee reserves the right to adjust the schedule or format in case of force majeure (e.g., pandemics, natural disasters, or platform failures), with notice published on the official website.

XI. Conduct and Violations

1. Any edited, manipulated, or substituted performance will result in immediate disqualification and revocation of awards.

2. Participants bear full responsibility for the authenticity of all submitted materials.

3. The Committee reserves the right to take disciplinary or legal action against violations, including public disclosure or institutional notification.

XII. Final Interpretation

These regulations are subject to the final interpretation and amendment by the Asian Art Association Singapore (Organizing Committee).

Registration implies full acceptance of all terms and the Committee’s final decisions.
In case of discrepancies, the most recent official announcement shall prevail.
