Liu Hong, a professor at Tianjin Conservatory of Music, is a master's degree supervisor in the pipa major and a director of the Pipa Society of the China Music Association. She has served as a judge in various international pipa competitions such as "Dunhuang Cup", "Liaoyuan Cup", "Lehai Cup", "Zhaojun Cup", and "Leitong Tianxia", and has also been a judge in the CCTV Chinese Instrumental Television Competition. She has completed a research project for the Tianjin Education Commission, held multiple solo concerts and series of teaching concerts, and given individual lectures. She has published a solo album titled "Hong Yin Cheng Chu" and several compilations. In March 2026, she was invited to join the Singapore Asian Art Association (Chinese Instrument Performance), serving as a judge for the "World Pipa Competition" and becoming a lifetime member.

Professor Liu Hong has authored several papers such as "Scale Training in Pipa Teaching", "A Brief Discussion on Pipa Teaching", "Some Insights on Pipa Performance Technique Training", "The Past and Present of Pipa", "A Brief Analysis of Pipa Music Works Classification", "An Analysis of the Most Basic Skills of Pipa - Playing and Picking", and "The Creative Characteristics and Aesthetic Sentiments of Pipa Concertos Through the Ages". These papers have been published in journals such as "Instruments", "Huang Zhong", and "Tian Lai".

Professor Liu Hong participated in the 2024 performance at the Central Committee and State Council's New Year Gathering, the recording of the "Chinese Art" program on CCTV, and performed as a soloist in various large-scale performances. She guided her students to win the gold medal in the reed ensemble category in the Second "Liaoning Cup" International Pipa Competition, and also won numerous awards in various competitions. She has received multiple certificates of excellence for her teaching.
