Competition details<\/span><\/h4>\n

The \u201cArt on Climate\u201d Illustration Competition was first launched in Spain in 2019, which attracted more than 900 artworks from over 400 participants from across Spain, Latin America and North Asia. This year the competition is extending its footprint to Asia Pacific, providing a platform for illustrators and students in this region to showcase their talents and skills. Selected artworks will be showcased in a virtual exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n

AllianzGI, a leading asset manager in the development of sustainable investment, is committed to fighting climate change and promoting a successful transition to the use of clean energy. Global warming is one of the greatest threats to sustainable development, and it is vital to reduce our CO2 emissions and to promote more efficient and responsible consumption. The \u201cArt on Climate\u201d Illustration Competition (Asia Pacific) aims to bring greater visibility to the fight against climate change, thereby contributing to achieving the objectives set out in the Paris Agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Theme of the Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Participants are invited to submit original works on the theme of “Climate Change”. The aim is to bring visibility to potential solutions, rather than to create catastrophic representations of the issue. Participants should use one or several of the sentences below as a starting point for their work:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sentences:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

1. Hundreds of millions of people around the world are still suffering from starvation today. Act now to end hunger through achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Great effort has been made to improve people’s life expectancy and reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in countries around the world. Improved sanitation has also reduced the spread of infectious diseases and enhanced the health and well- being of people at all ages.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Water scarcity, poor water quality and insufficient sanitation facilities are threatening food security, the natural ecosystem and livelihood of the poor and contributing to rising hunger and malnutrition.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Urban planning that comes with pleasant and affordable housing, safe, economical and convenient transport system together with inclusive and green public spaces can help to improve the urban carrying capacity.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Better air quality and solid waste management in densely populated cities help to mitigate the adverse effects caused by population growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. We can help to reduce the social cost arising from economic activities and enhance competitiveness with effort in every step of the supply chain by reducing waste generation and resource consumption, increasing production and improving product quality.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Contribute to food security by reducing food waste during production and along the supply chain with the help of retailers and consumers.<\/span><\/p>\n

8. Economic and population growth are drivers for climate change leading to increasing temperature, melting glaciers and rising sea levels. Global temperature is on track to rise by more than 3 degree Celsius by the end of this century. Act before it is too late to avoid devastating consequences.<\/span><\/p>\n

9. The ocean covers 70% of Earth\u2019s surface. It is supporting a variety of life and providing us with food and raw materials. Sustainable use of ocean resources, reducing pollution and preservation of marine life and biodiversity can help to promote sustainable development. <\/span><\/p>\n

10. Human activities and climate change are posing significant threats to the forests on Earth. Protecting the forests and preventing desertification are crucial to ensure food security and combat climate change. <\/span><\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00b7 Any person aged 16 or above on 30 April 2021, from any location, is eligible to participate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important Dates<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00b7 Register and upload artwork: from 17 May 2021 to 31 July 2021 inclusive<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Results announcement: winners will be notified by email, and results will be announced on this page by 31 August 2021<\/span><\/p>\n

Artwork Specifications<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00b7 Must be original works relevant to the theme of the competition (should use one or several sentences listed above), and submitted by participants on an individual basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Each participant may submit up to a maximum of three artworks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 The submitted artwork(s) must not have been previously published or previously used for any other purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Can be in any medium (e.g. painting, computer software, mixed media), but the result must be a flat image and created in colour. Clip art is not allowed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Should be in A3 size (297mm x 420mm), in either horizontal or vertical format.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Must be uploaded in JPG format, with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi, and the total size of each entry should be no more than 10MB.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Each artwork should be accompanied by a short description, either in Chinese or English (minimum 30 words, maximum 100 words).<\/span><\/p>\n

Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00b7 Relevance and artistic quality of the work: 50 points<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Relevance to the theme of the Competition: 40 points<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Creative language: 10 points<\/span><\/p>\n

Awards and Exhibition<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00b7 Champion (one): e-Certificate and prize of Euros 1500<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 1st Runner-up (one): e-Certificate and prize of Euros 1000<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 2nd Runner-up (one): e-Certificate and prize of Euros 500<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Merit (twenty): e-Certificate and prize of Euros 100<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Each eligible participant will be awarded an e-certificate of Participation<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 The winning pieces and selected other works will be put on display in a virtual exhibition<\/span><\/p>\n

Terms and Conditions<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

1. Participants must provide true and accurate information on the entry form. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify submissions in cases where information is inaccurate or has been omitted.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. To be eligible for participation, participants must be aged 16 or above on 30 April 2021. Participants under 18 must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before entering. By providing consent, parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of participants under 18 agree to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the participants.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Employees of Allianz Global Investors and \/ or its subsidiaries, Fingertips Company Limited and\/ or its subsidiaries, and all those living in the same households as those employees are not eligible to participate in the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. All entries should be original, submitted on an individual basis, and have not been previously published on any occasion. Plagiarism and infringement of copyrights and legislation, if verified, will trigger disqualification. Participants will bear any legal liability arising therefrom, and the Organiser, the Co-organisers and the Sponsor will not be held responsible.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Entries should not contain material that is indecent, obscene, pornographic, violent, defamatory, disparaging, inappropriate, controversial or that promotes political interests. Any breach of this rule will result in disqualification from the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. No submission fee is required. However, participants are solely responsible for all expenses incurred in preparing and submitting their work.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Each participant may submit up to a maximum of three works, but is only allowed to one of the prizes. Late submissions will not be accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n

8. No substitutions will be allowed under any circumstances once the original entry has been submitted to the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

9. The results of the competition are subject to the final decision of the judging panel. No objections by participants will be entertained. The Organiser retains the right to revoke or withdraw the awards or prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

10. The result of the competition will be announced on 31 August 2021 and the Organiser will send out a notification to the winners by email. The prize will be presented in form of cash in Euro account. Winners are required to have a bank account for the transfer or remittance of the cash prize.<\/span><\/p>\n

11. Once the Organiser has sent out individual notifications of prize-winners by email, the winners will have a maximum period of one month to provide the following information to the Organiser for transfer of the cash prize: a copy of his or her identification document for identity verification, and bank account details. Otherwise, a winner will be understood to have waived entitlement to the award. Once the Organiser has received all the required information, the cash prize will be transferred or remitted to the bank account provided by the winner within 10 working days.<\/span><\/p>\n

12. The cash prize will be issued in Euros. Winners should provide details of their Euro account to receive the cash prize. If a winner does not have a Euro account, the Organiser will transfer or remit the cash prize to the bank account provided by the winner in a currency reflecting the legal tender of the jurisdiction where the bank is located. The cash prize in Euros will be converted into the local currency at the exchange rate applicable on the date of the transaction and may therefore be subject to exchange rate fluctuations.<\/span><\/p>\n

13. The Organiser will be responsible for all remittance fees on behalf of the winners, while the winners will be responsible for any other relevant handling fees and taxes, and any other derivative costs charged by their bank or arising from relevant financial procedures in their location. The Organiser will notify winners when the transfer or remittance process has been completed, but the exact time at which winners will receive their cash prize may be affected by the financial procedures operating in their specific locations.<\/span><\/p>\n

14. The Organiser and the Sponsor reserve the right to copy, publicise or make use of the submitted entries in full or in part and in any form, including but not limited to promotion, exhibition, education purposes, without the consent of the participants or payment of fees of any kind.<\/span><\/p>\n

15. Participants agree that their entries may be put on display in a virtual exhibition for public viewing, together with their names and the short description provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

16. The Organiser reserves the right to interpret and amend the rules,and the terms and conditions of the competition, without prior notice.<\/span><\/p>\n

17. Upon submission of entries, participants agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

18. All information collected is by the Organiser for competition use only, including but not limited to contacting participants, and distributing prizes. The information will be kept for six months by the Organiser after the competition ends, after which it will be deleted.<\/span><\/p>\n

19. In the event of any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions in these terms and conditions, the English version will prevail.<\/span><\/p>\n

20. In the event of any dispute in respect of or arising from the Competition (including concerning the interpretation and application of these terms and conditions), the decision of the Organiser will be final, conclusive, and binding.<\/span><\/p>\n
