She is interested in the hybridism of the natural environment and influenced by the different idiosyncrasies and characteristics of each different animal, and aptly expresses her concern on the ecological environment through her Art.Gek Ching’s advocacy for the unique and unusual has developed into her newest style, and with a more pronounced use of colour she breathes a different kind of life into her hybrid creations. Their intricate nature unfolds and evolves upon her specially prepared paper, yet the resembled expressions of their living ancestors is both startling and beautiful.
